DRY RISERS & FIRE HYDRANTS
Dry Risers
According to BS9990, any building higher than 18 metres (up to 60 metres), must have a Dry Riser system installed. Every Dry Riser system is designed to protect each floor; utilising Outlets, specifically located for the Fire Brigade to connect a water supply, and fight fires on multiple levels. Each Dry Riser system must be inspected twice a year, consisting of a 6 monthly visual inspection and an annual wet pressure test, testing the system integrity to 12 BAR.
For many decades, we at Cormeton Fire, have worked with Northumberland and Tyne & Wear Fire Brigades, as well as multiple public and private sector clients, inspecting and testing systems and ensuring compliance, and that they are fit for purpose, should they ever have to be operated in the event of a Fire.
Compliance is integral to any premise, but can be tricky when it comes to functionality etc which is why our engineers carry out continuous educational development and training, so we can pass on that expertise to our clients.
Please note: It is the clients responsibility to inform the Fire Brigade immediately of any failure or issue that may affect operation.
If you require Dry Riser inspection or maintenance, please contact us for more information.
