Since 1992 Cormeton Fire Protection has been an IDEST cylinder testing station, referred to as Test House No. 2Y, testing and inspecting High Pressure cylinders, varying in size from 1 to 150 litres.

This historically came about from an idea held by Mick Warburton, who identified a gap in the market and went on to design and build a test rig capable of testing
numerous sized High-Pressure cylinders (up to 650 BAR or 9427.5 psi).

Michael Warburton, inspired by his father’s ideology, continued to evolve and grow the testing department, by designing, building and installing 2 additional test rigs and drying units. The large rig is capable of testing and drying up to 6 x 60 litre cylinders at one time, while the smaller rig and dryer, specifically designed and built for scuba diving, paintball and air rifle cylinders, can test and dry 1 cylinder at a time.

We still use the original test rig for various cylinders, which means we can utilise 3 separate test rigs, providing us with an unmatched capability for visually inspecting, hydrostatically testing, Oxygen cleaning and filling high pressure cylinders.

We also have shot blasting and tumbling services on site.
The cylinder and valve threads we can inspect and test are: M18, 19.8, M25, 25E, G3/4, G5/8 & M30

The Gases we provide are Air, Nitrogen, Argon, Helium and CO2, Oxygen, Nitrox, Tri-Mix, HeliAir

If you’re not sure your cylinder requires testing, you require a test or a fill, or simply advice, then get in touch, we are here to help.
